Unlock the Future of Talent: A Look at the Themed Careers Fairs

The Career Planning and Development Centre of the Office of Student Affairs hosted two themed careers fairs in October 2024. The Government Careers Fair and CUHK Careers Fair (Management/Graduate/Executive Trainee) altogether attracted over two thousand student participants.

Governments Careers Fair

The Government Careers Fair, held on October 3 at Yasumoto Academic Park, featured 26 government bureaux and departments, providing numerous job opportunities and valuable recruitment information to students. Government representatives addressed student inquiries regarding career path of various civil servant positions. Additionally, the fair presented seven informative recruitment talks of ranging officer ranks, providing in-depth information of the positions and insightful suggestions for effective job application.

On October 15, CUHK Careers Fair (Management/Graduate/Executive Trainee) invited 16 leading organizations of various sectors namely conglomerates, consumer products, property development, utility and public service to introduce their elite trainee programmes to our vibrant student community. The event encouraged a dynamic environment for students to explore their career aspiration while at the same time for employers to identity potential talents from CUHK. In addition to the exhibition booths, the AI-powered CV Boost workshop received enthusiastic participation, which unveiled the latest recruitment technology to students.

Thanks to the staunch efforts of all participating organizations and students, these careers fairs were a resounding success. The Career Planning and Development Centre remains dedicated to supporting students in their career initiation, planning and development and looks forward to sustaining a robust relationship with key employers to ensure the sustainability of the talent pipeline from CUHK.
