The Wellness and Counselling Centre (WACC) of the Office of Student Affairs endeavors to enhance students’ peer support through engaging dedicated students, providing them with relevant training and service opportunities and empowering them to serve CUHK students. Over the past few months, the Peer Support Network (PSN) has been actively engaged in various service projects to foster a supportive and vibrant community at CUHK. We are excited to share the latest updates from our dedicated teams, uBuddies, uPals and uShine.
uBuddies, uPals and uShine set up promotion booths at CUHK Art Fair, welcoming freshmen and schoolmates with fun games from September 11 to 13. They also encouraged peers interested in helping others and making new friends to join PSN.
uBuddies held “War Game Fun Day” on September 21, giving students the opportunity to try a new sport and meet some new friends at CUHK. The team also organized a “Tiramisu Workshop” on October 4, where students could create and enjoy delicious desserts amid all the stress before mid-term examinations.
uPals conducted an “Acrylic Painting from Nature Workshop” on September 16, where students explored acrylic painting techniques, experimented with soothing color palettes, and expressed their emotions through artistic expression. uPals’ “Let’s Go Hiking at Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve” was held on October 13, promoting physical and mental well-being through a connection with nature.
uShine organized “CU Tonight” on September 13, an orientation activity designed to help students with SEN explore the campus and encourage interactions among them. uShine also arranged a “Dialogue in the Dark” experience activity on October 5, allowing students to raise their SEN awareness through unique engagement in an immersive dark, and soundless environment.
