Tracy Tsang – Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Management, Year 2

As a liberal arts student, visiting the National Key Laboratory of Rail Transport Systems at Southwest Jiaotong University and seeing the world’s first high-temperature superconducting maglev train and test line deepened my appreciation for Chinese technology and its prospects. I recognised China’s leadership role in the international arena and the profound impact of technology on human life. My high-speed rail trip from Chengdu to Mount Emei was my first experience of China’s technological advancements, rivalling Japan’s Shinkansen.

Donald To – Bachelor of Nursing, Year 1

During our journey in Chengdu, we experienced vibrant nightlife on Chunxi Road, the ice and snow of Emei Mountain, and savoured Sichuan cuisine. We watched the Sichuan Opera at the Shufeng Yayun Opera House, showcasing local culture and innovative elements like QR codes for snacks and costume try-ons. The Jinsha Site Museum displays exquisite craftsmanship from three thousand years ago, including golden masks and the Immortal Birds Gold Ornament. This trip beautifully blended cultural heritage with modern innovation.
